Marshalltown Community Theatre.
Dear Marshalltown Community Theatre Members,
We appreciate your patronage and continued support of MCT! It has been almost a year since we last graced our beloved MCT stage and we share your disappointment in the cancellation of shows through summer 2021 due to COVID-19. Despite going dark last spring, we were determined to use the time to sort through our props and set pieces, purge unneeded items, and organize our storage, which became more imperative after the Derecho in August. Not surprising, the damages MCT sustained were extensive and we are working with the Board of Trustees of the Fisher Community Center (FCC) to get the needed and required repairs and updates completed.
Though the specifics of when and how we reopen will still depend on public safety and the completion of repairs to MCT and FCC, please check back with us via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MarshalltownCommunityTheatre/ for information regarding updates. In addition, our new and improved website should be up and running soon for another way for you to stay informed. We would love to offer a new season starting in the fall of 2021, but recognize that this is an everchanging situation that may require further adjustments to our calendar. We will inform you of those changes, as soon as we know them.
We wish you the best and thank you for your continued support of our theatre productions at MCT. As a small, volunteer non-profit, we do not receive any federal, state or local government operating funds. We fund the vast majority of what it costs to operate MCT with proceeds from donations, grants, and ticket sales, so your purchase of theater tickets makes the ongoing operating of MCT possible. If you still have your season ticket(s) from the 2019-2020 season, please know that we will be honoring them when we make our comeback! Also, please consider making a donation to MCT with the Donorbox link on our Facebook page and/or our new website once it is ready.
President, MCT Board of Directors
